VectorMosaic

VectorMosaic is a Illustrator extension that lets you create amazing mosaics and halftones. Thank you for purchasing it. This document will give you brief instructions about how to install, use and uninstall VectorMosaic.

How to Install

VectorMosaic has an installation script and you can easily install the extension by simply running that script inside Illustrator. 

  • Expand the "VectorMosaic for Illustrator.zip" to your desktop.  
  • Start Illustrator.
  • Run Install Script. Go to File > Scripts > Browse and select the "Install_VectorMosaic.jsx" file. This will install VectorMosaic.
Installing VectorMosaic: Go to File > Scripts > Browse and select the "Install_VectorMosaic.jsx" file. This will install VectorMosaic.

How to Use

To run VectorMosaic, go to Window > Extensions menu and select VectorMosaic. Click Import Image to import an image into VectorMosaic. After importing the image VectorMosaic will apply a halftone effect with the default settings. You can zoom into the result in the Preview window. You can change the Resolution, Shape and Fixed Size options

Starting VectorMosaic: Go to Window menu, select Extensions and click on VectorMosaic
Importing an Image: You need to import an image into it first. Click the Import Image button and select an image from your computer.
Changing Settings: After importing your image, VectorMosaic will apply the effect with the default settings and show the result in the Preview Window. You can click the Settings Button to open the Settings Panel and change the settings.

Horizontal Res(olution): Vary from 40 to 500. Changes the number of shapes in a row.

Fixed Size: When checked, the size of the shapes are not affected by the pixel brightness, all shapes will have the exact same size, which can be set by Fixed Size slider.

Changing the Shape(s): You can change the shape preset from the Shapes Dropdown. If you pick a signle shape, that shape will be used to form the image. Multi Shape Presets are a set of multiple shapes. If you pick a Multi Shape preset, shapes in that set will be used depending on the pixel value and the density of the shape.

Opening Final Image: Click the Open In PS button to open the final image in Illustrator. The final image opened in Illustrator will be a vector image which means you can scale it without losing quality.
